Hard to love, but inherently lovable

Just thought this was an interesting quote from the book “Inclusion and Democracy

Democracy is hard to love. … Because in a democracy nearly everything is revisable, and because … uncertainty shadows democracy.

… If democracy is valuable at all, it is for instrumental reasons primarily.

Only in a democratic political system… do all members of a society in principle have the opportunity to try to influence public policy to serve or protect their interests.
